Up one levelSmyrna-Clayton Rotary's most important activity is community service. Here are some of our ongoing or recent projects.
- Adopt-A-Highway Cleanup
- The Smyrna-Clayton Rotary club sponsors a section of roadway and each year we spend a day cleaning it up.
- Bingo program
- Each month during Winter the club sponsors and hosts a bingo game at the home and hospital for the chronically ill.
- Boy Scout Troop Sponsorship
- Smyrna-Clayton Rotary sponsors local the Boy Scouts Troop #135
- Car Show
- An Annual fund raiser for the community
- Centennial Project - Boys & Girls Club illuminated Sign
- For the 100th Anniversary of the founding of Rotary, the Smyrna-Clayton Rotary club donated a large sign to the local Boys and Girls Club.
- College Scholarship program
- The club awards college scholarships annually to local students from the Smyrna, Delaware school district. In 2007 we plan to award two (2) scholarships in the amount of $1,000.00 each ($500.00 per semester).
- Community Grants
- The Smyrna-Clayton Rotary makes grants to a variety of community organizations in need.
- Dictionary Project
- Each year we give dictionaries to every third grader in Kent county.
- Easter Seals Volleyball
- A team of Rotarians, friends and family play volleyball to raise money for Easter Seals.
- Rotary International Foundation
- The Rotary Foundation is a not-for-profit corporation that supports the efforts of Rotary International to achieve world understanding and peace through international humanitarian, educational, and cultural exchange programs.
